Get involved with IWD Banbury

Since we started planning IWD Banbury 2022 we’ve been really enthused by the messages we’ve regularly received from people looking to get involved.

As the event draws closer we’re no longer looking for speakers, panellists and, workshop hosts for our 2022 events. But there are still a number of ways we’d love you to get involved

Join our Female Founders Fair

We're looking for independently owned and operated retailers and creatives from in and around Oxfordshire to join our pop-up Female Founders Fair.

From 10:00 - 15:00 on Saturday 5th March, our mini-market at The Mill Arts Centre is the ideal way to showcase and sell your brand to Banburyshire.

Email the Curation team with a brief introduction to your brand and products for consideration.

Become a virtual mentor

We are asking local business and community members to connect with young people from three local education providers in short "speed-dating" style virtual mentoring sessions.

Each speed-mentoring session will consist of a 15-minute introduction, 60 minutes of speed mentoring and a 15-minute wrap-up.

During these dynamic interactions, we hope to change perceptions of careers open to women in Oxfordshire and spark inspirational moments for both mentors and mentees.

You can get involved as a mentor for as little as 90 minutes of your time, from the comfort of your office or home. Please fill in our short application form to find out more.

Come along and spend money with our collaborators

IWD Banbury is being supported by lots of amazing women-led independent businesses. By coming along to The Mill during March you can get to know them, find out about what they make or do, and spend your money with them. Rather than getting the coffee to get you through the day from your usual brand, or buying that birthday present from a big chain retailer, you can get involved by shopping with one of our superb small businesses

Tell your friends

IWD Banbury is a local event organised by a small team. We’re working hard to spread the word about our packed events schedule. You can get involved by telling your friends - online and in real life - about IWD Banbury. Every like, share and comment, conversation, mention or recommendation helps more people find us.

If you have a space to pop up a poster or some flyers, you can collect some from The Mill. Just let us know and we'll pop them aside for you to collect when you're next passing.

Host a fringe event

International Women’s Day isn’t just one event belonging to a single organisation. It is a collective celebration and call to action to end inequality. We’re happy to help facilitate and promote independently organised events around Oxfordshire through our website, social media and personal networks.

And finally… buy a ticket to one of our events

We’re a not-for-profit event. Whilst our curators and collaborators are supporting the event in kind wherever possible there are inevitable costs to cover, such as insurance, equipment hire and hosting fees.

Quite simply, if tickets don’t sell we won’t be able to run future events.

The most impactful way you can get involved is to buy a ticket to one of our events.

By booking a ticket to even one of our events you will help Banbury continue to be part of the global International Women’s Day movement.
